Culnacreag Bed & Breakfast, Treaslane, Isle of Skye IV51 9NX
‘Culnacreag‘, gaelic for behind the rock, is a Bed and Breakfast run by Neil
and Mary on the family croft in the small crofting township of
Treaslane some 9 miles from Portree the islands main town. We are just off
the A850, the central ring road for the island connecting the three northern
peninsulas of Trotternish, Waternish and Durinish as well as allowing easy
access to the islands south and mainland beyond.
Our house is newly built on an elevated position that allows uninterrupted
views over Loch Snizort Beag with the Trotternish hills beyond. The house is
of ‘upside down’ design with the bedrooms downstairs. They have floor to
ceiling windows and a door to the outside allowing great views and easy
With the views comes the chance to watch seals, otters, and rarely dolphins
and porpoises. You could see many different types of birds including
occasionally sea eagles and golden eagles, more commonly cormorants,
ducks and oyster catchers and the small birds that come to our feeders.
A warm welcome awaits
